Working Conditions

These workers conditions could be compared to a horse. Why did they keep coming back then? They were afraid to lose a job. With no job they had no money and rent was about ten dollars a month. Families had to work as much as they could in order to keep a house and feed and clothe the family. That also meant they couldn’t use it on medical needs. They factories were also dangerous, you could easily lose a finger or a whole leg. You could end up dying just because of the poisonous gas you work with.
