Problems Homesteading

Owning land became a worst nightmare for small homesteaders. Most had to obtain loans in order to pay for the land. They worked so hard but they still could not pay off their debt. Wealthy made it even more difficult for them by  selling land they purchased and raising the prices. Taxes were rising and that made it even more worse, so most of them had to sell all or some of their land in order to pay off the debt. Some couldn’t even do that and their land was taken by the banks.
