Sweatshops

Men, women, and children were forced to work long hard days(14 hours) in crammed, hot apartments. They were paid more for making more pieces. The point was to work very fast and sweat.

· Ready-made clothing: It was the most common product in the sweatshop. In one week a family made an average of 12 dozen pairs of pants.

· Making artificial flowers: It was a strenuous task. When the workers had close detailed work, it sometimes caused eyestrain. They also had to work with sharp wires that usually caused cuts and punctures.
