Reforming City Politics

Many cities at this time were still run by the “boss” system all across the country. There was dishonesty and greed was revealed at the heart of this system. City officials were being bribed for government contracts by businesses. Police, human services, and sanitation that the government provided were the factors that kept life in the cities going. Political corruption caused many problems with jobs of the people. After realizing the corruption that was happening the commission form of government came in to reform the city, including city departments, roads, schools, utilities, and police.
