Towards the end of his life Andrew Carnegie became a philanthropist, someone who promotes human welfare by funding public institutions. He hadn’t received a formal education but he still promoted libraries throughout the United States. He gave large sums of money to colleges, public buildings, and to the founding of the Endowment of International Peace. |
Carnegie was Generous with his wealth building public Library and probably most well known Carnegie hall the amphitheater.
