Silver

                 Silver is a type of mineral that was very useful to settlers in 1859. When discovered, a mad rush of people would flock to the place and try and make a fortune. Few ever got that fortune. Most only got killed over their share, sickness, or bankruptcy from spending so much on equipment.

 

Fact: A silver bar rated at 999.5 means that that bar is nearly pure silver or 1000.
