A Trip to Live Oak Farm
Crispy weather made the field trip feel like Christmas! And then when each kindergarten child carried home a seedling fir, well that surely was Christmas fun. The bumpy tractor ride around the farm showed off corn stalks and old pumpkin fields. Sitting on bales of hay while listening to our guide Allison tell about the inside of pine trees made learning fun. Counting the tree rings on rounds of wood was a bit challenging, but the children gave guessing the tree's age a good try. Feeding goats, touching the back of a decades old tortoise, and seeing ponies and bunnies amidst layers of multicolored fallen leaves all brought excitement and laughter. A great backdrop for pictures was a haystack mound that surely was designed to dissipate a kindergartner's energy --- hmmm. I think not. There was still plenty of flying high when we hit RCS's playground coming home.
Come, join us as we explore!
