Champions!

The 2005 Cougar Baseball season ended on Monday, May 9th with an 8-0 win over the Academy of Academic Excellence Knights, in the championship game of the Mountain Valley League. This marks the first time in recent memory that the RCS baseball team won the league title. The Cougars came up short in the championship game last year losing to Riverside Christian by a score of 8-3.

This year’s team ended with a perfect 14-0 record with two of the most memorable wins coming against rival Loma Linda Academy.

The 2005 Cougars were led by 8th graders David Andriese, and Jordan Cross. Jordan led the team with an impressive .639 batting average and handled most of the catching duties. David finished a close 2nd with a .625 average, as well as hitting 10 homeruns. David was the team’s number one pitcher and totaled 16 strikeouts in the championship game.
