VOLLEYBALL GIRLS ROCK!

The night of November 15, at 6:45 p.m., the RCS 7/8 Volleyball girls played in the Mountain Valley League championship game against Woodcrest Christian out of Riverside. The game was held in Arrowhead Christian Academy’s Eagle Arena in Redlands. Following an undefeated season, this was the culmination of many hours of practice and hard work. These girls represent the essence of “teamwork”. There were no primadonnas, only team members working together, encouraging each other, cheering each other on, no matter if they were on the court or off.

The game was a nail-biter. Our league plays rally score to 25, which makes each game move very fast and keeps things very exciting. RCS led off by winning the first match. The second game was taken by Woodcrest. The third, RCS came back but gave up the fourth. It came down to the final fifth game which only goes to a 15 score. RCS started out very strong due to some errors by Woodcrest. After a good RCS lead of 8 or 9 points, Woodcrest rallied and started to catch up. It came down to RCS trying to win the game point - it seemed to take forever. We seemed to be stuck at 14 and couldn’t seem to grab that final score. After much tension, fans standing and cheering the girls on, and parents ready to have heart attacks in the stands, RCS scored the game point.Congratulations to all of the girls on the team, the manager and the coaches.

Thank you to all of the parents for your awesome support and to all the RCS Volleyball supporters who kept cheering us on over the season.

It was great!
