BASIC FACTS

In the fall of 1877 we moved to Walnut Grove. When I was 10 a boy asked if I would marry him. But I said no! In the spring of 1879 my older sister Mary had a stroke which made her blind. Then when Mary was 17 she went to a school for blind people. When I was 16 I took a two month schooling job to earn money for Mary to stay in school.
